Ursula Hoff, Art historian, was born on December 26th, 1909 in London, England. She is a distinguished art historian and critic, and was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 1970 for her work as assistant director of the National Gallery of Victoria. Educated in Hamburg where she gained a PhD, she arrived in Melbourne in 1939 to take up a position as secretary to the Women's College at the University of Melbourne.
